This is why I have created the Yoga with Verity 6 week beginners Yoga course.

I’m Verity

I started Yoga with Verity to share Yoga with as many people as I could.

My yoga journey begin when I was in my mid-thirties, at the time I was suffering with depression and chronic back pain, I was also experiencing grief related insomnia. The medical options available to me were multiple medications and sick notes. So, by the time my physio and GP suggested I try yoga I was prepared to try anything, even if it meant going to a class on my own.

WOW, am I glad I faced the fear and gave it a try, because it quite literally changed my life.

But this is not about my story, it’s about yours.

This is a course for complete beginners or anyone who has had a long break from practicing, It’s a 6 week course like no other. I am also a psychologist, classes are based on the ancient teachings of yoga blended with some modern day evidence backed understandings on the inner workings of the mind, brain, breath and nervous system. (Spoiler: it’s all connected)

I am a Yoga Alliance Professionals trained teacher, an accredited menopause yoga teacher and I was you not that long ago, all of which means you are in safe hands with me.

Below is a break down of what to expect throughout the 6 week course, if you have any questions or worries about anything, reach out in the form below.

  • What is Yoga and Yoga asana

    Nasal breathing and why we breath this way in yoga.

    Intro to knees to chest, child's pose, mountain and cat-cow. With ways to adapt them for your body.

  • Introduction to sun salutation A sequence and how to adapt for every mood, body and season.

    What is savasana? Why we do it and what it means to the central nervous system.

  • This week we recap some of what we've already covered and begin to explore the warrior poses.

  • This week we use all the knowledge we have learnt and we have our first flow. Exciting!

  • Some time to learn about adaptations we can make for our own bodies and minds.

    A chance to delve a little deeper into your own body and how it likes to move.

  • Final week of the course.

    Lets bring it all together and flow with our own mind, bodies and breath.
