The style of Yoga I teach is called Hatha Yoga. In Sanskrit, Hatha translates into sun and moon. This is thought to represent balance.

Yoga with Verity practices are designed to bring balance back into the body, we do that through a mixture of physical poses and breathing techniques.

Together we create a self-care system you can take with you off the mat.

The 8 Limbs of Yoga.

Hatha yoga is an ancient system of Yoga created to bring the body back into balance and help the student to gain mastery of their own body and mind.

(who doesn’t want a bit of self-mastery?)

The Hatha system has 8 parts (called limbs) that together make up a process of personal enquiry and self-discovery.

  1. The Yamas

How we interact with the world and people around us.

  2. The Niyamas

A deep knowledge and understanding of ourselves.

  3. Asana

The physical practice and poses of Yoga.

  4. Pranyama

    Connection to our breathe.

  5. Pratyahara

    Withdrawal of the senses.

  6. Dharana

    The ability to focus.

  7. Dhyana

To be able to meditate and live mindfully.

  8. Samadhi

The feeling of oneness with ourselves and a deep understanding of what we need in each moment.
